Girls State Pledge

Please read over the Girls State pledge form and type your name below to confirm you understand and agree follow what is stated.

  1. Upon arrival at Girls State, no citizen shall be permitted to leave the campus of Central Washington University.
  2. No citizens are permitted outside their dorm after the County meeting. In case of an emergency, they shall notify their counselor immediately.
  3. As a guest of the University, citizens shall observe all campus and equipment rules and respect University property and staff.
  4. Each citizen is expected to attend all sessions, all meetings, and all ceremonies of the ALA Evergreen Girls State program, including Flag lowering and Flag retreat. 
  5. Each citizen must remain with the county and/or session group at all times. You are not permitted to wander the Central Washington University campus.
  6. Every citizen will pay proper respect to the Flag.
  7. Each citizens if responsbile for the neatness of their room. Evidence of their occupancy shall be disposed of before vacating their room on the final day of the session. 
  8. Girls State materials shall be taken to all sessions. This includes the Girls State guidebook and name tag.
  9. A blessing is offered on a voluntary basis. Each citizen shall be respectful to those who choose to offer their blessing. 
  10. Each citizen must report any illness or injury to their head counselor immediately. 
  11. Proper respect and courtesy shall be shown at all times to the special guests of Girls State, Girls State Director, Counselors, and Staff.
  12. Cell phones may be used as cameras during the day. Texting, calling, and charging are not allowed during meetings, sessions, and while the Girls State staff is instructing.
  13. Ordering food through 3rd party food delivery, including Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc., is not permitted. 
  14. Evergreen Girls State delegates are encouraged to make uplifting, positive posts to their personal social media sites. No posting of inappropriate, derogatory, or abusive language should be posted on any social media website regarding staff members, fellow citizens, or Girls State activities. 
  15. Absolutely NO ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, ILLEGAL DRUGS, OR NON-AUTHORIZED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS use is permitted or allowed. 
  16. Absolutely no boys are allowed in the dorms at any time. 
  17. Bullying, harassment, or any kind will not be tolerated. Indicating, but not limited to, sexual orientation, race, religion, creed, etc. 
  18. If you received a sponsorship to attend Girls State and you don’t attend, it is your responsibility to repay the sponsor. 
  19. Violation of any rule of the American Legion Auxiliary Evergreen Girls State Program and/or Central Washington University will result in discipline of the offending citizen up to and including immediate expulsion at the sole discretion of the Girls State Director.
